The Kite Runner...BEST book I have read in almost a century!
This book turned out
to be 1000 times more awesome than I expected!!....I was kind of hesitant
at first to buy Khaled Hosseini books as one of my aunts termed them as
“melodramatic”….and I DO NOT gel well with melodrama…so I was having second
thoughts…but as soon as I read the reviews of the book….almost all the readers
termed is as a must-read…so I thought why not give this book a try?….and that
was the best decision I ever made…because believe me I would have regretted not
having an opportunity to read this massively intriguing and emotionally
capturing book. I mean, the way Khaled has actually portrayed the life of
children in Afghanistan is truly remarkable. I could see the characters come to
life as I turned page after page not wanting it to end….It felt like I was
actually in the book and seeing the characters going through various twists and
turns that their merciless writer set for them. The emotional ups and downs of
the two main protagonists Amir and Hassan, their emotional bond
,society pressures and Hassan’s sacrifices for his best friend showed a
relationship higher and more valuable than love, this kind of bond cannot be named
and describing it…..for us mere mortals is impossible. Also, the other
characters that are connected to the story in a rather weird but strangely
acceptable way have enhanced the story from good to extraordinary. If this is
just a mere reflection of Afghanistan childhood I cannot wait to read what else
this exceptional writer can conjure up in his books. So, Khaled Hosseini please
continue writing these great books which your readers not only love and read
with full admiration but experience the lives of your wonderfully thought-up
characters through their own eyes.
P.S- Guys, if you have no problem facing absolute emotional book trauma hours after you have actually finished reading the book, give this book a try. Also, his second book (as I have heard) is better than the first one “A Thousand Splendid Suns”…so if you like the Kite runner and if you have the budget (as I know some of you guys have fixed pocket money) give this one a try too.
Signing Off....Khuda Hafiz my fellow human beings.
