The Heart of India we seek...

The centre of India or as we call it Madhya Pradesh , this multi cultural state was my vacation spot this year. After a long year of exams, uts and moreover jaundice…I took a much needed break. This year has been a drag in all sense of the word..after the torture of giving my midterms and uts at the same time ..a vacation was more than a necessity and this trip was pretty good(except the usual problems). Madhya Pradesh like delhi is a state of extreme weather conditions..thus we travelled from one a practically freezing place to a less colder one. However, summers are more dominating(as mentioned by the locals). This place is a khichdi of different sceneries which is intriguing to see and more to discover. On one side we see temples made by legendary kings of the Chandela dynasty. The scriptures on these temples are crafted with utmost perfection…I mean I realized that a man can work wonders with chisel and stone. Each dome, each pillar was dedicated to a different god/goddess as we all know that in India there is an abundance of gods..we will never run out of gods to worship and put our sincere and never ending beliefs in..ah well..India is considered to be a religious paradise. Whereas when we venture the other side we see lush forests(national parks actually…) filled with various endangered and rare animals. I went on 2 safaris…the temperature outside the jungle was almost pleasant…but once we entered the jungle the temperature just dropped…like 5 degrees…it instantly went from cold to freezing. I mean the tip of my nose was bright red and burning..I couldn’t feel my hands!..and yet I had to take pictures so I forgot about my almost stonified hands and continued on my slightly bumpy ride..with 6 people in a gypsy( for people who don’t know what a gypsy is..it’s a extinct car from Maruti Suzuki)…anyway we rattled through a misbegotten road into the jungles of mist where we met many travelers along the way..including sambars (a type of deer),a kingfisher, wild boars, bisons..I even saw a leapord!!....and god knows what else. After exploring the jungles of Kahna and Panna, we went to Jabalpur. A hustling place with a lot of tourists and many different places to eat…this is where we saw those magnificent temples and a waterfall called the Dhuadhar. This waterfall spurted foam everywhere..but there is no scientific reasoning as to why the foam was produced..as the height of the the waterfall itself wasn’t that much..but the foam was most probably caused due to the obstructions that were hidden behind the falls..anyway, it was a wonderful place. Overall, my trip to M.P was a great success and was a truly awesome getaway from my boring life.

P.S- Thanks for reading this post…and as some of you(or most of you) may have noticed I am posting this on new year’s eve…so Happy New Year to everyone who had the patience to read my blog and  like it….
