Killing In The Name Of Culture...(Part 1)
Though the vibrancy of our diversified nation may put us on the top of the versatile list, what is unseen by outsiders is the splash of crimson which has found it's way into our tricoloured flag and has been persisting for generations..getting more dominant as the time passes.
Though we claim to be following the interventionist pattern of secularism...we somehow find something wrong with every religion which is not related and completely similar to Hinduism. So much so that schools promote full on preaching up to the level of forced morning prayers and havans. Thus,the choice of people following absolutely no religion or something other than Hinduism completely nullifies itself as soon as the child is exposed to an outer environment..Nipping the bud of ulterior thought as it may. The fact remains,that even though our constitution gives us the right to freedom of religion..our society has not exactly followed the gist.
On the other side of the coin..Christian schools entertain nothing but the purity of the bible and Gospel songs echoing from their PA systems..almost force feeding people into Christianity.Me,being in a staunch Christian school(for 11 years now) know the depressing feeling of having your creative thoughts smashed into smithereens by the fact that they are somehow demeaning the sanctity of our precious atmosphere thereby ruining it for the other mindless drones.Thus,being in India everything seems to be completely extreme.This is just how the youth of our population is affected...
The amount of bullshit our country dishes out in the name of religion and culture is too damn high.Some practices..well,a lot of practices which are not only morally degrading but also disgustingly unfair are somehow justified through the explanation of centuries of historical culture and long lasting sources of religion. I somehow do not seem to grasp the idea..that how, the same group of people worshiping idols of goddesses like Santoshi and Durga Ma thinking of them as the epitome of goodness can go to a doctor,give him/her some money and have a female child aborted from their daughter in law's womb?..I mean isn't this like the highest level of paradoxical thinking ever?..These are educated people from well to do families housing such ridiculous mindsets and ending of the lives of thousands of unborn children.Simple unborn lives losing their first breath even before actually taking one...Something so inhuman..it's almost hard to believe.

P.S- I know I've been saying this "more in part 2" thing a lot without actually writing a second part..I'm really sorry.I will definitely write a part 2 of this..because I have a lot of things in mind.
